Problem with a lightweight big head
I broke one of my cardinal rules, I bought one of those new big face, lightweight driver without testing or fitting. I had heard good things about it and have been losing distance on my drives, so I took a chance - mistake.

What I found is that a really light driver just does not work with my swing. I like a heaver club. And the size of the head had negative effects. I found that I no longer concentrated on the sweet spot, thinking that off center hits would still work because of the expanded face and a bigger sweet spot. Another problem was that if I hit the ball on the toe, the club twisted in my hands resulting in a really bad shot, it is a really big head.

So it looks like there is another driver in my future. I also realized that my loss of distance was more a factor of lack of play, been cold this winter and I am in the South. Getting older and my body tightens up so my swing is stiffer.

At this point Elmarko, I would go and get on a launch monitor. Start with the driver in a neutral setup. There are a lot of factors that can contribute to your problem.

For the life of me I can't control the R11S driver . Furjikura blur shaft X flex 60 grams. Not sure how to correct I have adjusted everything it must be the big head I'm trying to get back to square or it is to light.

This is a somewhat entertaining post. On the serious side it does provide the following benefits: 1) Club Swingweight is important. 2) Overall club weight is important. 3) Shaft bend profile is important especially with larger heads. Shafte torque becomes much more important with a larger head. 4) Bigger club heads do not fix bad ball striking and a swing with a high degree of variability. :)
