| Nike VR Pro Adjustments | |
 I was introduced to and fitted for a VR Pro Nike Driver. I am very much a feel oriented player and currently playing to around an 8 handicap. The VR Pro has the appearance and feel that appeal to me, so we got started with a square and neutral setting. The shaft we selected was a Project X 6.0 stiff.The new technology is intriguing to say the least. We adjusted the driver open to 1 degree and immediately saw left to right influence in the ball flight. We made the same 1 degree adjustment to a closed position and saw obvious right to left influence. We backed it up to .5 and .25 and saw reduction in both left to right and right to left flights. We then adjusted back to the square and neutral setting and I hit the ball reasonably straight, which is my normal flight pattern. This position is appealing to my eye and I was happy with the results. I personally didn't need much adjustment (32 different positions) with this driver to suit my swing. With this technology, a golfer has the ability to make changes to the equipment and avoid a hollywood production. It also puts an end to getting fit with a demo, then ordering the product, only to find once you receive it, that it doesn't look or feel the same as the demo. You then can feel stuck with a lemon. The same goes with a shaft change. It is much easier to experiment and adds a little more fun to it. I was impressed with the total experience. Frank McCaffrey  |
