Play it forward
Charlie's Chatter
To continue on with making golf fun by playing from an appropriate distance for your game, a new concept has been proposed and is backed by a lot of golf professionals and enthusiasts.

Professional golfers can hit the ball 300 to 350 yards off the tee, while most of us very senior citizens (75+) would consider our best drives "good ones" if they carried 150 to 200 yards. Thanks to folks like Barney Adams (he started Adam's Golf) there is a movement afoot to move the forward tees to accommodate women, kids and yes, grey beards like me, allowing 6,500-7,000 yard courses to be played anywhere from 4,500 to 6,000 yards allowing folks at all skills levels to enjoy the thrill of getting on a long par 4 or a short par 5 in par or at worst be able to play some of the holes in par or better.

You are correct here because our first tournament this year was played from the ladies tees. All the senior golfers loved this. I was able to reach all the par 5's in two and even drove one par 4 hole. It was so much fun. Our team shot a net 49 to win the tournament. I can't remember the last time I had 6 natural birds in one round.
