Over the years I have heard time and again "these are the best clubs!". Everyone has an opinion, you rarely can get two (and certainly not three) amateurs to agree as to which are "the best" clubs to play. I'm going to let you, my readers, into the black hole which I fondly tell folks is my mind. I'll tell you which clubs I recommend to my friends by virtue of showing them which ones I am playing with for this new and glorious golf season. In case you haven't noticed summer is almost upon us and it's time to get our gear in order. Anyway, I decided to find out which manufacturer will sell me a full set of clubs that, at the very least, help me improve my game this year. Club manufacturers pay the pros to play their clubs and then the pros promptly tell the designers exactly how to set these clubs to his/hers specifications. So, after all that gets finished, the manufacturer explains to us we should then get their clubs. I like, and have played with for an entire season, Cleveland, Mizuno, Titleist, PING, Callaway, Bobby Jones and Adams clubs. Here is a conclusion I have come to: If you think a club is best, and I think most are very good, you will feel secure using it and therefore make a better swing. I am sure you know that a better swing will bring about the best results. Remember, golf is a game, and like any other hobby, it is here for us to hopefully enjoy.
